The Benefits of LED Light Therapy: A Game-Changer for Your Skin

In the world of advanced skincare, LED Light Therapy has emerged as a revolutionary, non-invasive treatment that promotes skin health and rejuvenation. Whether you’re looking to reduce wrinkles, combat acne, or enhance overall skin radiance, LED Light Therapy offers a safe and effective solution for all skin types.

How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

LED Light Therapy utilises different wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin at varying depths, stimulating cellular activity. Unlike UV rays, LED light is completely safe and works at a deep level to trigger natural healing processes, improve circulation, and boost collagen production.

At Angel Touch Massage, we offer LED Light Therapy devices from Trudermal and GloDome, both of which are FDA-approved and designed to deliver professional-grade skincare benefits.

The Power of Different LED Light Colours

Each colour of LED light serves a specific function, making it a versatile treatment for various skin concerns:

  • Red Light (Anti-Ageing & Collagen Boosting) – Stimulates collagen production, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and improves skin elasticity.

  • Blue Light (Acne Treatment) – Kills acne-causing bacteria, reduces inflammation, and helps prevent future breakouts.

  • Green Light (Skin Brightening & Pigmentation Reduction) – Targets hyperpigmentation, evens out skin tone, and reduces redness.

  • Yellow Light (Soothing & Healing) – Boosts lymphatic flow, reduces redness, and accelerates skin recovery.

  • Purple Light (Combination Therapy) – A mix of red and blue light for anti-ageing and acne-fighting benefits.

Who Can Benefit from LED Light Therapy?

LED Light Therapy is suitable for almost everyone and is an excellent addition to any skincare routine. It is particularly beneficial for:

  • Individuals with acne-prone or inflamed skin

  • Those seeking anti-ageing treatments to reduce wrinkles and fine lines

  • Clients with hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone

Advantages of Infrared Treatments

The advantages of infrared treatments are vast, and ongoing discoveries continue to unveil even more benefits each year. Out of the numerous advantages, three that I personally favor include:

  1. Enhanced Detoxification - Infrared saunas induce profuse sweating, and the infrared heat penetrates deeper into the body, effectively eliminating toxins along with the sweat.

  2. Inner Peace and Tranquility - After experiencing our sauna, massage, or meditation, you'll relish that serene and peaceful state, which is readily attainable at our Angel Touch Clinic.

  3. Calorie Burning and Skin Improvement - Infrared heat not only elevates your heart rate for calorie burning but also boosts blood flow to the skin, leading to heightened collagen production and improved skin condition.

Furthermore, the overall health and well-being benefits encompass relaxation, easing tension in tight muscles, alleviating joint discomfort, and granting much-needed personal time.

Here are some essential guidelines to follow when using our innovative treatment, a combination of the infrared thermal blanket and our Angel Touch Lymphatic Drainage:

  • Stay Hydrated: Ensure you are well-hydrated before arriving for the treatment, and remember to drink water both before and after the session.

  • Attire: Disposable underwear will be provided to keep your own underwear clean from clay and sweat. Additionally, towels will be placed between you and the thermal blanket for added comfort.

This the ultimate detoxification massage experience! To book our Thermal Body Wrap & Signature Massage, click here or contact us for more information.

What makes lymphatic drainage massage different?

Lymphatic drainage massage is a detoxification massage that uses a manual technique to target the lymphatic system. According to Better Health, “the lymphatic system is our body’s ‘sewerage system’. The lymphatic system is important for the optimal functioning of our general and specific immune responses.”

Here’s how lymphatic drainage massage can help you:

  • Balance your immunity: The lymphatic system works to regulate the immune system, it's like the scanner at the supermarket, it scans the toxins to tell your immune cells what to send out.

  • Accelerate weight loss: The lymphatic system absorbs digestive fat from the small intestine, if the lymphatic system is working well, it means that it will help/cooperate in the elimination of fats. A sluggish or poor lymphatic system can make it difficult to lose weight.

  • Post surgical recovery including cosmetic surgery and sports injuries: The lymphatic system will help to move excess build up fluid from the tissue promoting healing and reducing risk of infection.

  • Improve digestion & constipation: Abdominal massage stimulates peristalsis which is an involuntary constriction and relaxation of the muscles of the intestine. With specific massage techniques it's possible to work with fluid retention of the belly improving digestion and reducing bloating and inflammation.

  • Manage menstrual, menopause, peri-menopausal symptoms: The lymphatic system improves hormone balance and overall health. It will improve symptoms such as mood changes, trouble concentrating, headaches, night sweats and hot flashes, trouble sleeping. With menstrual cramps, the lymphatic massage will ease the throbbing and cramping pain at the lower abdominal area.

  • Heal from illnesses including chronic fatigue: People with chronic fatigue can experience pain in their joints and muscles, lack of concentration, excess sleepiness, anxiety, depression and headaches. The lymphatic drainage massage will bring comfort by relaxing the body, support digestion and perhaps most importantly will encourage the parasympathetic nervous system response bringing healing to the body.

  • Reduce anxiety: The lymphatic drainage massage will calm the nervous system therefore reducing anxiety.

Our lymphatic system is an integral part of our immune system and according to Cancer Research UK “it helps us fight bacteria and infections by destroying old or abnormal cells, such as cancer cells.” This is why we are so passionate about lymphatic drainage massage and the health benefits it can have.

5 ways to boost your lymphatic system at home

As a massage therapist, I am passionate about supporting my client’s lymphatic system on and off the massage table.

There are many things we can do at home that help stimulate our lymphatic system:

  1. Drink at least 2 litres of water every day, and even better adding fresh lemon. According to Medical Medium* “lemon water is a good source of vitamins C and B and minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Lemon water is excellent for weight loss, the immune system, alkalizing the body, controlling high blood pressure, anti-aging, detoxification, purifying the blood, and regulating body temperature.”

  2. Taking time to deeply breathe throughout your day. There are many studies that have been done that show “simple breathing exercises incorporated throughout your day can actually disengage a potentially health-harming chronic stress response and help insulate you from the damage that it can inflict on your body*.”

  3. Move your body regularly throughout the day. According to Dr Jenna Macciochi “exercise is the most potent activator of nitric oxide production. It has been shown that as little as 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercise is enough to increase nitric oxide levels and to have a positive effect on lymphatic flow, particularly if you breathe through your nose.*”

  4. Dry brushing your face and body to move your lymphatic fluid. According to Chopra, dry brushing “refreshes and stimulates the skin and lymphatic system, enhancing blood circulation and the release of accumulated toxins*.”

  5. Taking hot and cold showers. According to Medical News Today, “cold showers can decrease inflammation and swelling, decrease muscle spasms and has pain-relieving effects. Hot showers can improve cardiovascular health, improve muscle and joint health, improve sleep and brain health.*”

Many of these things you may already be doing but little tweaks to these everyday activities can help stimulate the lymphatic system more efficiently.
